Corrina Jeffries

Clinical Counsellor & Psychotherapist

Seeking therapeutic support can be daunting, especially when you're feeling vulnerable or during times of crisis. Client comfort is central to my practice. I welcome clients from all backgrounds and offer them a kind, empathic service. I value the complex attributes each client brings to therapy and work collaboratively with them to tailor treatments that meet their unique requirements. At your first appointment we will discuss your history, goals and preferences and plan your therapy together; it is normal to be apprehensive about starting therapy and this session offers you an opportunity to discuss your concerns and ask any questions you may have. All licensed psychotherapists must undertake therapy themselves as part of their training so I understand that this can be an emotionally challenging as well as enriching process and as your therapist will support you through every step of your journey.

I offer clients choice over their preferred treatment style and work with established therapeutic modalities proven effective for treating anxiety and trauma mediated conditions, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance Commitment Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, Emotion-Focused Therapy, Internal Family Systems and Expressive Therapies. Therapy involves exploration of client issues in-person, online or by phone, via talking and other forms of expression, which helps them to gain insight into their problems, and develop new perspectives and strategies that support a process of positive change.

If you are apprehensive about seeking help, I invite you to contact me for a free 15 minute telephone consultation - you do not need a GP referral and help is just a message away. I offer online and telehealth appointments Australia-wide, and an SA in-person clinic option for Adelaide Metro & HIlls residents. Please note that while I do not prescribe medication or provide formal diagnoses, I work in partnership with GPs, and other medical and allied health practitioners who do so where this is in accordance with client preferences.

about me

I share the concerns of many about the growing mental health challenges people face today; modern life and global events are taking their toll on the well-being of people from all backgrounds, making us the most anxious generation of our time. In Australia, the Mental Health Care system is in crisis, an issue that is compounded by the limited availability of Medicare subsidised practitioners, which has put effective therapeutic support out of the reach of many. I founded Anxiety Therapy SA to provide compassionate, effective and affordable treatment for adults and young people impacted by anxiety and related issues; my postgraduate studies at the University of Adelaide focused on extensively researching the most effective evidence-based strategies that deliver measurable real-life results and equip people to change their lives for the better. I am experienced in helping people manage their mental health and life challenges within the commercial, educational and private sectors, including providing high school and business students and staff with counselling support in individual, group and workshop settings, and as an executive coach, public speaker and corporate spokesperson trainer. Today as a private practitioner, I help anxious adults and teenagers improve their mental well-being and support the learning of future counsellors and psychotherapists as a University educator.
